Satbara Extract is official document maintained by the Revenue Department of the state of Maharashtra for agricultural land and for land that was converted into non-agricultural land (NA). Satbara contains key information such as location area, name of the legal owners of the land, survey number, hissa number.
The land title document (7/12 extract) in one’s name, is very important and it is widely used in rural and semi-rural areas, for identifying owners, for sanctioning of agriculture and non-agricultural loans, etc.
The objective is to provide digital signed satbara to people in quick time.
Earlier, only paper copies of land title documents were issued, which led to bribery and land disputes. The government had also suffered, in terms of serious delays in infrastructure projects and escalation of costs, due to disputes over land titles. To avoid this, the state government, on the directive of the union government, embarked on digitization of land-related documents. The idea is to offer security to the land records and avoid manual interference, said a senior revenue officer.
Earlier, people had to apply and get documents from the tehsildar offices. With kiosks coming into picture and getting in the integrated technology, the citizens will be free of all this hassle.
Any land record documents in the district can be soon accessed and copies can be obtained these Kiosks. This will ease the problem of overcrowding in the tehsildar office and people do not need to visit the office repetitively for the same work.
